AJ2007 Transport Arrangements

The Queensland Contingent of the 21st Australian Jamboree will travel to and from Elmore, Victoria by air. Two airlines will be used - Virgin Blue and Qantas.

Aircraft will depart from the following terminals – Mount Isa, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Brisbane and Coolangatta.
Members from certain locations of the State will be transported via coach, to & from an aircraft terminal near their home area.
Coach pick up/drop off locations from throughout Queensland to terminals will be advised in due course.

Members who are not being transported by the Contingent to a terminal, will be required to organise their own means of transport to and from their allocated terminal, at their own expense.

Meals during travel will be at each members own expense. Some flights are direct, however most flights have at least one changeover at another airport.

Travel to Victoria will occur during the period 1-2 January 2007 and from Victoria during the period 13-14 January 2007. Members who have chosen to travel with the Contingent, will have their transport arranged for them by the Contingent Transport Team.
Independent Travellers are reminded that strict rules of access to the Jamboree site do apply. More information for Independent Travellers will be provided in Contingent Bulletins during 2006.

All members will be issued with a Personal Transport Advice, which will clearly outline the allocated transport information for their journey.

All members flying with the Contingent will need to have some form of photographic id, as electronic ticketing will be used (ie. paper tickets will not be issued). The Contingent Application process will require each member to provide in electronic or hard copy format, a passport type photo of themselves, so that the Transport Team may prepare official ID’s.

More information will be added to this site as it becomes available. Otherwise, please use the Contact Us page to email through your early questions. Remember to change your subject to “Transport”.
